Performer at Taikasaari 2026?

First, read what Taikasaari is:

Taikasaari Festival has previously been held three times in Oulu, and this year the event will take place for the second time in the beautiful citypark in Hämeenlinna. The event has an age limit of 18 years.

What makes Taikasaari unique is that the program is not revealed in advance. However, the festival does highlight interesting artists on social media during the selection process (of course, with the artists' permission).

The program has so far included, for example, martial arts demonstrations, imaginative characters, spoken word artists, throat singers, fire performers, various dance groups, circus performers, aerial acrobats, theater, and of course several music artists of very different styles—some atmospheric, some energetic. The application form also asks about willingness to collaborate with other artists. This means we may suggest combining the art forms of two or more applicants into one compelling, mutually supportive performance.

Stage performances take place inside a large circus tent. Close-up performances and artworks may be located in different areas of the citypark.

Taikasaari Festival is organized by Wadessa Oy from Oulu, which also organizes other public events and a wide variety of corporate parties and functions throughout the year. We keep all applications on file, and several artists—both selected and not selected—have been invited to perform at other events.

Program application selection criteria for Taikasaari 2026

Call for performers is open from Fri, Jan 30 – Sun, Mar 1.

Selections will be made by Fri, Apr 3, 2026, and all applicants will be notified of the decision.

Factors influencing the selection:

• Weather resistance (rain and wind) 🌧️💨

• Overall costs, including potential travel or accommodation expenses 💰📊
