WHAT IS TAIKASAARI?
Taikasaari is an autumn celebration for good-spirited adults—people don't come for big names, but for big feelings. Last year, visitors arrived in Taikasaari from 18 different regions across Finland.
The performers are not announced in advance; the programme is revealed to the audience only on site. The programme is curated through a nationwide open call held earlier in the year. From hundreds of applications, a diverse, immersive and complementary whole has been selected.
The programme is not limited to music alone: artists and performers may represent any field of the performing arts and appear anywhere throughout the city park area.
Last year, the stage and the park were once again taken over in turn by the most immersive artists—and here you can explore what was seen in 2025.
Taikasaari is a festival just for adults—or, more precisely, we could call this evening our shared autumn celebration. Nestled right next to the heart of Hämeenlinna, the naturally beautiful and lush city park comes alive in the warm twilight of September for an unforgettable, relaxed evening.
Our guests are wonderful, life-affirming, and smart adults, so the festival area remains tidy and calm throughout the evening. Our tables are dressed with linens and decorated. There are plenty of seats and quiet spaces, or you can choose to dance joyfully in front of the stage with others who share your spirit.
Only 2,000 guests are admitted, ensuring there's enough space to breathe, move around, sit, and enjoy. The festival is thus also suitable for those with sensory sensitivities. The entire festival area is 18+, so you can enjoy a glass of wine anywhere in the park—whether near the beautiful ruins or while immersing yourself in chess or other outdoor games. Roaming servers make sure your glass is never empty, wherever you are.
This is just some of how evenings are spent at Taikasaari:
There's plenty to see and experience in the area, from exploring site-specific art to strolling peacefully through nature, all while encountering the mysterious, wild, and playful characters roaming the park.
In Taikasaari's delightful market area, you'll find craft artists from all over Finland. The vendors were carefully selected from a large pool of applicants to offer our guests a diverse and high-quality range of handmade products, as well as fun services such as caricature drawings, face painting, and tarot readings. The call for market vendors for 2026 begins in March.
So, how should you dress for an evening like this? The answer from Taikasaari's guests is: however you like, as long as you're yourself. Colorfully, warmly, imaginatively, stylishly, casually… Over the years, Taikasaari's visitors have started a tradition of creative dressing, and today some even make their own outfits especially for this adventure.
Here are a few highlights of past outfit choices—we're excited to see what everyone will wear next year!
At Taikasaari, performers and event organizers enjoy the evening together with the guests. This is our shared celebration of joy and good vibes.
We have a deep passion for making Taikasaari more atmospheric, more functional, and more enjoyable every year. A heartfelt thank you to all our dear guests who have shared your wishes and thoughts with us.
Discounted early bird tickets are sold out. Regular-priced tickets will go on sale on Saturday, January 31. Please note that only 2,000 tickets are available, and prices will increase closer to the event.
